"There are lots of young vital playwrights who are experimenting, and these are the plays that people who are interested in the theatre should see. They should go off Broadway. They should go to the cafe theatres and see the experiments that are being made."

EDWARD ALBEE — Theatre of the Absurd

It ain't getting any more off Broadway than this baby! That's right, musical theatre is alive and well, and living in… Ottawa? Could it be? Comprehensive, original musical compositions featuring emerging new artists right here in the capital?

Dancing on Water Theatre Company is becoming one of the leaders in innovative, original musical theatre. Through professional collaboration, and community involvement the company has produced three main stage productions, Dancing on Water ( 2001), Michael Larass' Plenty Unlimited, and Laura Piper's Bye Bye Bytown, all featuring the fun and energetic music of Timothy Piper, local composer and musician, and co-founder of Dancing on Water Theatre Company.
